  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Brings a warm, inviting depth to the ice cream.

Strawberry Swirl

  • 1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and mashed Creates the perfect showcase swirl.
  • 2 tablespoons sugar To sweeten the strawberries.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice Balances the sweetness of the strawberry swirl.

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, and vanilla extract. Stir well until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  • Pour the vanilla-infused mixture into your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions for about 20-25 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, combine the mashed strawberries with 2 tablespoons of sugar and the lemon juice, and cook over medium heat for 5-7 minutes.
  • Allow the strawberry mixture to cool completely.

Assembly and Freezing

  • Once the ice cream has finished churning, transfer it to an airtight container.
  • Drizzle the strawberry swirl over the ice cream and gently swirl it in with a spoon or spatula.
  • Freeze the ice cream for at least 4 hours, or until firm.
  • Scoop into bowls or cones and enjoy!

Notes

For best results, use freshly picked strawberries. Allow your ice cream maker bowl to freeze overnight for optimal texture. Taste the strawberry mixture before swirling to adjust sweetness if needed.
