  • 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 8 oz noodles (rice noodles or lo mein noodles) offering a chewy base
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce delivering savory depth
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce adding a touch of sweetness
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce enhancing the flavor further
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil providing a nutty finish
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil for cooking
  • 1 onion sliced lending a mild sweetness
  • 1 bell pepper sliced adding a pop of color
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced for aromatic richness
  • 1 inch piece of ginger, grated offering warmth and zest
  • 2 green onions chopped (for garnish) bringing freshness
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish) providing a crunch
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preparation

  • Cook the noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  • Add the steak slices and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside with the steak.
  • Add another tablespoon of oil to the skillet, then stir-fry the onion, bell pepper, garlic, and ginger for 3-4 minutes until softened.

Cooking

  • Add the cooked noodles to the skillet, followed by the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and sesame oil.
  • Toss everything together gently to coat the noodles evenly in the sauce.
  • Return the steak and shrimp to the skillet, mixing them with the noodles and vegetables.
  • Stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until everything is well combined and heated through.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serving

  • Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds, if desired, then serve hot.

Notes

Marinating the steak for about 30 minutes prior can enhance flavor. Consider adding your favorite vegetables for more variety, and adjust spice levels with red pepper flakes if desired. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
