  • 4 pieces hamburger buns
  • 4 slices pepper jack cheese
  • 1 piece fresh jalapeño, sliced (seeds removed for less heat)
  • 1/2 piece red onion, sliced

Sauce and Seasoning

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha sauce adjust for spice level
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup

Preparation

  • Preheat your grill or stovetop griddle over medium-high heat, preparing for that delicious sizzle.
  • In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, Sriracha sauce, ketchup, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir well to create a spicy mayo sauce.
  • Form the ground beef into 4 equal-sized patties, sprinkling salt and pepper generously on both sides.

Cooking

  • Lightly oil the grill or griddle with olive oil and place the burger patties on the surface.
  • Cook the burgers for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
  • Top each patty with a slice of pepper jack cheese and close the grill lid for 1-2 minutes to melt the cheese.
  • Toast the hamburger buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
  • Assemble the burgers: Spread the spicy mayo sauce on the bottom half of each toasted bun, add the cooked burger patties topped with melted cheese, and decorate with jalapeño slices and red onion.
  • Cap off your creation with the top half of the bun and serve immediately.
