Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 steaks steaks (flank or ribeye, sliced thinly against the grain)
  • 8 oz pasta (penne or fusilli)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp sriracha or hot sauce adjust to taste
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup bell pepper, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley or cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Begin by bringing a large skillet or pot filled with salted water to a rolling boil. Cook your pasta according to the package instructions for the perfect al dente texture. Once cooked, drain it and set it aside while you prepare the rest of the dish.
  • In the same large pan, drizzle in 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Season the steak slices generously with salt and pepper. Carefully place the seasoned steak in the hot pan and sear them for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked through. Once done, remove the steak from the pan and set it aside on a plate.
  • Using the same pan (no need to wash it), add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Toss in the finely chopped onion and bell pepper, sautéing them for about 3-4 minutes until they become tender. Then, add the minced garlic and let it cook for another minute until fragrant.
  • Lower the heat to medium. To create the sauce, stir in the BBQ sauce, honey, and sriracha. Allow this mixture to simmer for about 2 minutes, enabling those delicious flavors to meld together.
  • Return the cooked pasta and seared steak to the pan. Gently toss everything together, ensuring the pasta is well coated with the sweet and spicy BBQ sauce and the steak is evenly distributed throughout.
  • Serve your Spicy Honey BBQ Steak Pasta hot. For an extra touch, garnish with freshly chopped parsley or cilantro if desired.

Notes

Marinate the Steak for up to an hour for added flavor. Feel free to add more vegetables to the dish, and adjust the sriracha to match your heat preference.
