Preparation

  • Thaw the lobster tails by placing them in the refrigerator overnight or in a bag submerged in cold water for about 30 minutes.
  • Preheat your oven to BROIL (500°F or 260°C), adjusting the oven rack to ensure the lobster tails are about 4 to 5 inches away from the broiler.
  • Butterfly the lobster tails by cutting down the center of the shell lengthwise and gently pulling the meat upward.

Cooking

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, crushed garlic, lemon juice, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper.
  • Apply the butter mixture generously over the exposed lobster meat using a brush.
  • Broil the lobster tails until the meat is opaque and lightly browned, approximately 10 minutes.

Notes

For enhanced freshness, add freshly chopped herbs to the butter mixture. Experiment with spices and consider variations such as grilling or using other marinades.
