Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup peanut butter The key to the rich, nutty flavor and chewy texture.
  • 1 cup sugar Adds sweetness and helps achieve that delightful crispness.
  • 1 large egg Binds everything together for a tender treat.
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract Enhances the overall flavor profile with a sweet aroma.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Balances the sweetness and enhances the nutty goodness.
  • 1/4 cup jelly or jam Provides a juicy, fruity center that complements the peanut butter perfectly.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, sugar, egg, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir well until smooth.
  • Roll the dough into small balls, about 1 inch in size, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Use a fork to press down on each ball, creating a criss-cross pattern.
  • Add a little dollop of your favorite jelly in the center of each cookie.

Baking

  • Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the cookies are lightly golden around the edges.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

For a richer flavor, consider using natural peanut butter. You can experiment with different flavors of jelly. Slightly underbaking will yield a chewier texture, while baking longer will produce a crispier cookie.
