Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Begin by slicing the cabbage into 1/2 inch thick rounds. Brush both sides of the cabbage slices with olive oil.

Mixing

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef (or turkey), finely chopped onions, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and the egg (if using). Mix thoroughly.
  • Form patties from the meat mixture that resemble the size of the cabbage rounds.

Baking

  • Arrange the cabbage burgers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for approximately 25 minutes, until cooked through.
  • Sprinkle cheese over each patty and switch to broil for an additional 3-5 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbling.

Notes
