Preparation

  • In a large pot over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter.
  • Add 1 lb of ground beef and cook for 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart, until browned.
  • Stir in 4 cloves of minced garlic and 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning, cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  • Pour in 1/2 cup of beef broth and raise the heat slightly to bring to a gentle simmer.
  • Add 8 ounces of pasta, stir, cover, and simmer according to package instructions (approximately 10-12 minutes), stirring occasionally.
  • Once pasta is al dente, stir in 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese until melted.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed, then serve hot.

Notes

For optimal success, check the doneness of pasta a minute or two before the package suggests. Adjust seasoning to taste, and stir frequently to prevent sticking.
