Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease or line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, incorporating each before adding the next, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and cocoa powder.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with water or milk as needed, until smooth.
  • Fold in the chopped pecans.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Icing and Serving

  • While the cake is baking, prepare the icing by melting the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Stir in the cocoa powder and milk to create a velvety blend.
  • Whisk in the confectioners' sugar until the icing is glossy.
  • Once the cake is done, sprinkle mini marshmallows over the warm cake and pour the icing over it.
