Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a large baking dish with olive oil or cooking spray.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the diced onion. Stir frequently to caramelize the beef slightly.
  • Stir in the marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for a few minutes.
  • Spread a layer of the marinara mixture at the bottom of the baking dish.
  • Layer the frozen ravioli over the sauce, add dollops of ricotta cheese, and sprinkle shredded mozzarella on top.
  • Repeat the layering until all components are used, finishing with marinara sauce and sprinkling grated parmesan on top.

Baking

  • Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbling.

Notes

Taste as you go to adjust seasoning. Grease the baking dish generously to prevent sticking. Overcooking the ravioli is a common mistake; they will cook fine in the casserole.
