Ingredients
  

For the Beef Marinade

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 lb flank steak or skirt steak, thinly sliced Main beef ingredient

For the Rice and Toppings

  • 2 cups cooked white rice Keep warm until assembly
  • 1/2 cucumber cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 avocado avocado, sliced
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste) Optional for spice

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, minced garlic, rice vinegar, grated ginger, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Whisk until well blended.
  • Add the thinly sliced beef to the marinade, ensuring each piece is coated. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

Cooking

  • While the beef marinates, cook the white rice according to your preferred method and keep it warm.
  • Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until browned.

Assembly

  • Place a generous serving of warm rice in a bowl or plate. Layer with grilled beef, followed by cucumber slices and avocado.
  • Drizzle gochujang over the top and finish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. Serve immediately.

Notes

Marinate beef for up to 2 hours for enhanced flavor. Consider additional toppings like kimchi. For a healthy version, substitute white rice with brown or cauliflower rice.
