Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tablespoon butter adds richness
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced for aromatic flavor
  • 1/4 teaspoon sesame oil (optional) providing a nutty depth
  • 1.5 tablespoons soy sauce for that essential umami
  • 1.5 tablespoons teriyaki sauce/mirin balancing sweetness with savoriness
  • Pepper to taste enhances the flavor profile

Instructions

Preparation

  • Combine the soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, and a dash of pepper in a small bowl. Set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat the butter over medium-high heat until melted and bubbling.
  • Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, around 30 seconds.

Cooking

  • Add chicken pieces to the skillet, tossing to coat with butter and garlic.
  • Pour the prepared sauce over the chicken, stirring well to coat each piece.
  • Stir-fry the mixture for approximately 5 minutes, allowing the sauce to reduce slightly and the chicken to cook through.
  • If using, drizzle sesame oil on top just before serving.

Serving

  • Serve hot alongside hibachi rice, noodles, or grilled vegetables.

Notes

Cut chicken pieces uniformly for even cooking. Use high-quality soy and teriyaki sauces for best flavor. Add vegetables for nutrition and color, and consider ginger or chili flakes for extra kick.
