  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 Tbsp whole milk Additional milk for batter
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted and cooled

Chocolate and Oils

  • 1 cup chocolate chip morsels
  • 2 tsp canola oil, divided
  • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter, divided, for cooking

Instructions
 

Mixing Dry Ingredients

  • Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.

Mixing Wet Ingredients

  • In another bowl, whisk together the sugar, milk, egg, and cooled melted butter until smooth and fully incorporated.

Combining Ingredients

  • Mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Stir gently until just combined, ensuring that the batter remains slightly lumpy.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips evenly throughout the batter.

Cooking

  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of butter and 1 teaspoon of canola oil.
  • Pour approximately 1/4 cup of the batter onto the skillet.
  • Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook until golden brown and cooked through.

Serving

  • Serve warm with melty butter or syrup.

Notes

Add vanilla extract for richer flavor or cinnamon for extra warmth. Store pancakes in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze with parchment paper for longer storage.
