  • 3 cloves garlic, minced aromatic and zesty

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning a fragrant blend

  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped adds a pop of color
  • 1 tbsp olive oil for moisture

Garlic Parmesan Topping

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese to amplify the savory profile
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs to create a crunchy crust
  • 2 tbsp melted butter for richness
  • 1 clove garlic, minced enhances garlic flavor

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare a baking dish or loaf pan with parchment paper or a light rub of olive oil.
  • In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, mozzarella cheese, beaten egg, minced garlic, diced onion, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and fresh parsley. Knead gently until all ingredients meld together.
  • Transfer the mixture to the prepared dish and shape it into a loaf. Smooth the top.

Topping

  • In a small bowl, mix topping ingredients: Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, melted butter, and minced garlic.
  • Sprinkle the topping evenly over the meatloaf.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the top is golden brown.
  • Let the meatloaf rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing to retain juices.

Notes

For a lighter version, swap ground chicken for lean turkey. For gluten-free, use gluten-free breadcrumbs. Allowing the meat mixture to marinate enhances flavors.
