Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 4 pieces hot dog buns Soft and fluffy, perfect for cradling the hot dog.
  • 4 pieces hot dogs Juicy and flavorful, these are the star of this dish.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Creamy and rich, it melds beautifully between the bread.
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened For that golden, crispy exterior.
  • 2 slices bread Thick-cut, to create a satisfying sandwich.
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder Optional, adds a delicious depth of flavor.
  • 1/4 tsp paprika Optional, provides a subtle kick and color.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Begin by preheating your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  • Generously butter the outsides of the bread slices. If you’d like to amp up the flavor, sprinkle garlic powder and paprika on top of the butter.
  • Place a generous amount of shredded cheddar cheese between the two slices of buttered bread to create a sandwich. Press it gently to ensure the cheese sticks.
  • Take your hot dog buns and place a hot dog inside each of them. Then, carefully wrap each hot dog with the grilled cheese sandwich you’ve just made, keeping the cheese inside.

Cooking

  • Place the wrapped hot dogs in the air fryer basket. Cook for 5-7 minutes, checking halfway for even cooking, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted to perfection.
  • Once they’re done, carefully remove the Fryer Grilled Cheese Hot Dogs and serve hot. Don’t forget to offer some of your favorite dipping sauces on the side!

Notes

To elevate your dish, consider using different cheeses or adding veggies like sliced jalapeños.
