For the Beef

  • 1 pound flank steak Tender and juicy, perfect for stir-frying.

  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil Canola or your choice, essential for frying.

For the Vegetables

  • 2 cups broccoli florets Provides crunch and nutrients.

  • 1 cup snow peas Crisp and tender, these add freshness.
  • 1 medium red bell pepper Sweet and vibrant for visual appeal.

For the Sauce

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce For the essential stir-fry base.
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar Balances the savory elements.
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder Adds aromatic goodness.
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger Adds warmth and zest.
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds For a lovely nutty finish.

Instructions
 

Prepare the Steak

  • Cut the flank steak thinly across the grain into 1/2 inch thick, 2-inch long strips.
  • Place the sliced steak in a bowl and mix in 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and 2 tablespoons of cornstarch.
  • Let it marinate at room temperature for at least 30 minutes.

Prepare the Sauce

  • In a bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup of soy sauce, 3 tablespoons of brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder, and 1 teaspoon of ground ginger.
  • Set the sauce aside for later use.

Cook the Beef

  • Heat 2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat.
  • Add half of the marinated beef and fry for about 3 minutes until browned.
  • Remove the beef from the skillet and repeat with the remaining beef.

Cook the Vegetables

  • Add the broccoli, shredded carrots, snow peas, and red bell pepper to the skillet.
  • Stir fry the vegetables for about 2 minutes.

Combine and Serve

  • Return the cooked beef to the skillet and pour the prepared sauce over everything.
  • Stir well and heat thoroughly for about 1-3 minutes.
  • Garnish with sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider marinating the beef overnight. Keep the vegetables moving in the pan to ensure they stay crispy. Serve with rice or noodles for a complete meal.
