Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Combine flour and powdered sugar in a bowl.
  • Cut cold butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Add egg yolk and cold water, mixing gently until the dough forms.
  • Press the dough into a tart pan and prick the base with a fork.
  • Chill the crust for 10 minutes in the refrigerator.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Cool completely.

Filling

  • Whip heavy cream with granulated sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  • Add a few drops of pink food coloring and fold gently.
  • Spoon the filling into the cooled tart crust and smooth it out.
  • Decorate with edible flowers or fondant decorations.
  • Dust with powdered sugar and chill for 2-3 hours before serving.

Notes

Keep ingredients cold for a flaky crust. Consider adding lemon zest to the cream for extra flavor. This tart can be made ahead and frozen.
