Preparation

  • Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Allow the mixture to sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes foamy.
  • Add olive oil, flour, and salt to the yeast mixture, and mix until the dough comes together.
  • Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for approximately 5 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  • Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise for about an hour or until it doubles in size.
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Once the dough has risen, punch it down gently and spread it onto a greased baking sheet, covering the surface.
  • Create dimples in the dough using your fingers, drizzle olive oil on top, and sprinkle with chopped rosemary and coarse sea salt.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Let it cool slightly before slicing.
