Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8x8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a medium saucepan, melt 1 cup of unsalted butter over medium heat. Stir in 2 cups of granulated sugar until it dissolves, then remove from heat.
  • Whisk in 4 large eggs, one at a time, then add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and 1 cup of Dr. Pepper soda.
  • Sift together 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 3/4 cup of cocoa powder, 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt in a separate bowl.
  • Gradually fold the dry mixture into the wet mixture until just combined.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan.

Glazing

  • In a small saucepan, combine 1/4 cup Dr. Pepper soda, 1/4 cup unsalted butter, and 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder. Heat over medium until melted and smooth.
  • Remove from heat and whisk in 2 cups of powdered sugar and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract until glossy.
  • Pour the glaze over the cooled brownies and spread evenly. Allow it to set before slicing.
