  • 2 cups Nestlé Toll House chocolate chips Envelops the cake in irresistible chocolate goodness.

For the Ganache

  • 1 stick salted butter Used in the ganache for creaminess and flavor.
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder Intensifies the chocolate flavor of the ganache.
  • 1/2 box powdered sugar Sweetens the ganache to perfection.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract Enhances the flavor of the ganache.
  • 3 tbsp milk Brings everything together into a silky-smooth ganache.

Optional

  • 1/2 cup pecan pieces Adds a delightful crunch and nutty flavor contrast.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the Devil's Food cake mix and the instant chocolate pudding mix.
  • Add in the eggs, vanilla extract, vegetable oil, sour cream or buttermilk, and brewed coffee. Mix well until all ingredients are smooth and fully incorporated.
  • Gently fold in the Nestlé Toll House chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  • Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  • Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center; it should come out clean.

Ganache Preparation

  • In a saucepan, melt the salted butter over medium heat.
  • Stir in the cocoa powder, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth and creamy.

Assembly

  • Once the cake has cooled, drizzle the ganache over the top and sprinkle with chopped pecans.
  • Allow the ganache to set for about 10-15 minutes before serving.

Notes

Consider adding a layer of whipped cream between the cake and ganache for added texture. Baking the cake a day ahead can enhance its flavors.
