Preparation

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the milk, sugar, and cocoa powder until the sugar is fully dissolved and the cocoa appears smooth.
  • Incorporate the heavy cream, vanilla extract, optional red food coloring, and a pinch of salt, mixing well until combined.
  • Cover the mixture and refrigerate it for at least 2 hours to chill completely.

Churning

  • Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions, usually for about 20–25 minutes.
  • In the last 2–3 minutes of churning, gently fold in the red velvet cake crumbs and mini chocolate chips.

Freezing

  • Transfer the churned ice cream to a freezer-safe container, smoothing the top for an even finish.
  • Freeze for at least 3–4 hours until it firms up to your desired consistency.

Serving

  • Scoop the Crimson Cocoa Rhapsody Ice Cream into bowls or cones.
  • Top with additional cake crumbs or a drizzle of chocolate sauce if desired.

Notes
