Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, cream cheese, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add in the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined, stirring gently.
  • Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
  • Flatten each ball gently.

Baking

  • Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Icing

  • In a bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Add green food coloring to achieve the desired shade.
  • Once the cookies have cooled, spread the icing on top and sprinkle with green sugar sprinkles if desired.

Notes

Ensure your butter and cream cheese are softened to room temperature for a fluffy dough. Chill the dough if it’s too sticky. Avoid over-mixing to prevent tough cookies.
