Ingredients

For the Flatbread Dough

  • 1 cup cottage cheese creamy, rich texture that enhances flavor
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour soft and versatile, forming a tender base
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder to aid the dough’s lightness
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt to enhance natural flavors harmoniously
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil adds richness and moisture
  • 1 unit egg binding the ingredients together for structure
  • 0.25 teaspoon garlic powder optional, providing aromatic depth
  • as needed unit water to adjust the dough’s consistency

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine cottage cheese, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add olive oil and egg to the mixture. If desired, include garlic powder now.
  • Stir until the dough starts to come together.
  • If the dough is too dry, gradually add water, a tablespoon at a time.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for a few minutes.
  • Once the dough is smooth, divide it into small balls and roll each into flat discs.

Cooking

  • Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  • Place a flatbread in the skillet, watching for the edges to bubble.
  • Cook each side for about 2-3 minutes, or until they turn golden brown.
  • Repeat until all the dough is cooked.

Serving

  • Serve warm, perhaps alongside a yogurt dip or salad.

Notes

Ensure to measure ingredients precisely to avoid dry or sticky dough. Use medium heat for a beautiful golden-brown exterior. Consider making variations with whole wheat flour or gluten-free options.
