Ingredients

Fruits and Vegetables

  • 2 cups diced tart apples Choose a variety like Granny Smith.
  • 1 cup diced celery For perfect crunch.
  • 1 cup grapes, halved Sweet and juicy addition.

Nuts

  • 1/2 cup toasted walnuts or pecans, roughly chopped Add for nutty flavor.

Dressing

  • 1/2 cup whipping cream, whipped For a fluffy texture.
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise For creaminess.
  • 1 tablespoon sugar To enhance natural sweetness.
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice Adds brightness.
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt To enhance flavors.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Begin by dicing your tart apples into bite-sized pieces. Place them in a large mixing bowl and sprinkle the sugar and lemon juice over the top. Toss well to coat all the apple pieces evenly.

Combining Ingredients

  • Add the diced celery, halved grapes, and chopped toasted walnuts or pecans to the bowl containing the apples. Stir gently to combine.

Making the Dressing

  • In a separate bowl, whip the whipping cream until soft peaks form. Once fluffy, gently fold in the mayonnaise until fully combined.

Mixing Everything Together

  • Carefully fold the whipped cream mixture into the apple and fruit mixture, ensuring all ingredients are coated. Add the kosher salt and taste for adjustment.

Chill and Serve

  • For optimal flavor, chill the salad in the refrigerator for at least one hour or even overnight. Serve on its own or on crisp lettuce leaves.

Notes

For a lighter salad, consider using Greek yogurt instead of mayonnaise. Add dried fruits for extra sweetness. The salad can be made a day in advance.
