Ice Cream Base

  • 2 cups heavy cream Provides a rich, velvety base.
  • 1 cup whole milk Adds smoothness.
  • 1/2 cup sugar Enhances flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon cherry blossom syrup (or cherry extract) Infuses floral essence.
  • 1/2 cup maraschino cherries, chopped Creates bursts of joy.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Adds a warm note.
  • optional Pink food coloring For a playful blush.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine heavy cream, milk, and sugar. Whisk until sugar is dissolved.
  • Add cherry blossom syrup and vanilla extract. If using, add food coloring for a blush pink hue.
  • Stir the mixture gently until well combined.

Churning

  • Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • In the last few minutes, add the chopped maraschino cherries.

Freezing

  • Transfer the ice cream into an airtight container and freeze for at least four hours, or until firm.

Notes

Ensure ingredients are chilled and the ice cream maker's bowl is frozen solid. Don't rush the churning process and allow the ice cream to set properly in the freezer.
