Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream and sweetened condensed milk. Whisk them together until smooth and well-combined.
  • Add the cherry blossom extract (or sakura syrup) to your mixture and stir until thoroughly incorporated.

Churning

  • Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.

Finalizing Ice Cream

  • Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container. If using cherry syrup, gently swirl it into the ice cream with a spoon.
  • Freeze the ice cream for at least 4 hours or until firm.

Serving

  • Scoop the cherry blossom ice cream into bowls or cones, and garnish with edible flowers.

Notes

Chill your mixing bowl and whisk beforehand for a fluffier texture. If you don’t have an ice cream maker, freeze the mixture and stir every 30 minutes for the first two hours. Consider adding dark chocolate chips or crushed biscuits for texture.
