  • 1 can 8 oz of Pillsbury refrigerated crescent rolls These rolls form the perfect base for the filling.
  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey Choose tender, juicy meat for heartiness.
  • 1 packet taco seasoning Bring the essence of traditional tacos into the dish.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend) Creamy and melty, this adds richness.
  • ½ cup salsa Adds a zesty kick to the filling.
  • ¼ cup sliced black olives Optional; adds a briny twist.
  • ¼ cup chopped green onions For garnish, adds freshness.
  • 1 tsp cooking spray Prevents sticking and enhances crispiness.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Grease a baking sheet with cooking spray.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef or turkey and brown it until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
  • Sprinkle in the taco seasoning and stir in the salsa. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  • Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.
  • On the wide end of each triangle, place a spoonful of the taco meat mixture and a sprinkle of shredded cheese, and optionally top with black olives.
  • Roll the triangles up from the wide end, tucking the filling snugly inside, and place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.

Baking

  • Slide the tray into the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven to cool slightly, then garnish with chopped green onions.

Serving

  • Serve warm, alongside additional salsa for dipping.

Notes

Avoid overstuffing the crescents, and ensure the edges are sealed properly. Allow to cool slightly before serving to prevent scalding bites.
