Ingredients
  

For the Meatballs

  • 1 lb ground beef Choose lean ground beef for a healthy option.
  • 1 tsp garlic powder Adds aromatic depth.

For the Pasta Bake

  • 2 cups marinara sauce Rich, tomato-based sauce.
  • 8 oz cooked penne pasta Small, tube-shaped pasta.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella Adds creaminess and stretch.
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan Provides sharp, nutty flavor.
  • optional Fresh parsley For garnish.

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  • Form the mixture into small meatballs, approximately one inch in diameter.

Cooking

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a splash of oil.
  • Brown the meatballs in the skillet for about 6-7 minutes, turning occasionally until cooked through.
  • In a large bowl, combine cooked penne pasta, marinara sauce, half of the shredded mozzarella, and all the grated Parmesan. Gently fold in the meatballs.
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and transfer the pasta and meatball mixture to a greased baking dish.
  • Top with remaining mozzarella cheese and bake for about 20 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.
  • Let it cool slightly before garnishing with fresh parsley and serving.

Notes

Consider adding chopped vegetables like bell peppers or spinach for extra nutrition. Use pre-made meatballs to save time. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days.
