Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tin with cupcake liners.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
  • In a large bowl, beat together the softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, along with the vanilla extract.
  • Alternate adding the dry ingredients and milk to the buttery mixture, beginning and ending with dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in the caramel sauce until evenly incorporated.
  • Spoon the batter evenly into the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.

Baking

  • Bake for 18-22 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Frosting

  • Beat together softened cream cheese and butter until smooth and creamy.
  • Gradually add powdered sugar, one cup at a time, until you achieve a cloud-like frosting.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt, and beat for an additional 2-3 minutes.

Serving

  • Once the cupcakes are completely cooled, frost each one generously with cream cheese frosting and drizzle extra caramel sauce on top.
