Preparation

  • Mix the Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the steamed and finely chopped broccoli, shredded cheddar cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, eggs, minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix everything thoroughly until well incorporated.
  • Shape the Patties: Take a small handful of the mixture and flatten it into a patty shape in your palm. Place a square of melting cheese in the center, fold the edges over, and reshape into a round patty.

Cooking

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and add olive oil. Fry the patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
  • Drain and Serve: Transfer cooked patties to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley or grated Parmesan.

Notes

Tips: Chop broccoli in advance and steam the night before for quicker preparation. Feel free to add finely chopped vegetables or experiment with different melting cheeses. For a healthier version, bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
