Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 4 pieces croissants, flaky and buttery
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened to a luscious spread
  • 1 cup blueberries, fresh or frozen
  • 4 pieces eggs, large and rich
  • 1 cup milk, creamy and smooth
  • 1/4 cup sugar, to add just the right amount of sweetness
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, fragrant and inviting
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, a warm and comforting spice
  • powdered sugar optional for serving for a delicate touch

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cut the croissants into bite-sized pieces and arrange them evenly in a greased baking dish.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the cream cheese and blueberries together until well combined. Spoon this mixture over the croissant pieces.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until smooth. Pour this mixture over the layers of croissants and cream cheese.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the casserole is set and lightly golden on top.
  • Allow to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar, if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

For added flavor, consider a pinch of nutmeg with the cinnamon. Substitute blueberries with raspberries or strawberries for a twist. Prepare it the night before to allow flavors to meld overnight.
