  • 0.5 teaspoon baking powder For fluffiness

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  • In a medium bowl, combine all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Whisk until well blended.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream softened unsalted butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 3-5 minutes).
  • Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Incorporate vanilla extract and mashed bananas into the mixture.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, alternating with milk, mixing until just combined.
  • Gently fold in chopped walnuts.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into the greased cake pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Consider adding cinnamon or nutmeg to the dry ingredients for additional flavor. Chocolate chips or pecans can also be added for variations. Monitor the cake closely in the final minutes of baking.
