Donuts

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup (plus extra for glaze)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk

Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tbsp maple syrup Adjust to reach drizzling consistency.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, eggs, milk, and maple syrup until the mixture is smooth.
  • Gently fold the wet ingredients into the dry, being careful not to overmix.
  • Spoon the batter into the greased donut pan, filling each cavity three-quarters full.

Baking

  • Bake the donuts for 15-18 minutes until they spring back when lightly touched.

Cooling & Glazing

  • Let the donuts cool slightly before glazing them.
  • For the glaze, mix powdered sugar with maple syrup until a drizzling consistency is reached.
  • Drizzle the glaze over the warm donuts.

Notes

For low-sugar or dairy-free alternatives, consider using sugar alternatives, almond milk, or gluten-free flour.
