Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Grease a baking sheet with olive oil.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Mix until evenly incorporated.
  • Take a small amount of the meat mixture, flatten it in your palm, and place about 1 tablespoon of shredded mozzarella cheese in the center. Fold the meat around the cheese, sealing it tightly, then roll into a ball.
  • Place the meatballs on the prepared baking sheet.

Baking

  • Bake the meatballs for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
  • While the meatballs bake, heat marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat. Add red pepper flakes if desired.

Serving

  • Serve the meatballs hot, drizzled with marinara sauce and garnished with fresh basil leaves.

Notes

Consider using fresh herbs for a vibrant flavor. You can prepare the meatballs in advance and store them in the fridge for several hours before baking to enhance flavor. For extra cheesiness, sprinkle mozzarella on top just before serving.
