Ingredients

Apple Fries Ingredients

  • 2 large apples (such as Fuji or Gala), firm and sweet
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour, for a crispy coating
  • 1 tsp cinnamon, to add warmth and flavor
  • 1/4 tsp salt, to enhance sweetness
  • 1 large egg, beaten, for binding
  • 2 tbsp sugar, for a touch of sweetness
  • 1 tbsp butter, melted, to aid crispiness
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar (optional, for extra sweetness)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  • Peel, core, and slice the apples into thin strips that resemble fries.

Coating

  • In a small bowl, combine the flour, cinnamon, salt, and sugar. Stir until evenly blended.
  • Dip each apple strip into the beaten egg, then coat it in the cinnamon-sugar flour mixture.

Cooking

  • Place the apple fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overlapping.
  • Lightly spray with cooking spray or drizzle with melted butter.
  • Air fry the apple strips for 8-10 minutes, flipping them halfway through.
  • Once cooked, sprinkle with brown sugar, if desired, and serve warm with caramel or chocolate dipping sauce.

Notes

For extra crunch, consider adding crushed nuts or granola to the coating mixture. You can also adjust spices or sugar levels to taste. Serve with a variety of dipping sauces for enhanced flavor.
