Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter (cold, cubed)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup fresh strawberries (chopped)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for filling)
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup icing sugar
- 2 tbsp milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick spray.
- In a bowl, combine chopped strawberries with 1/2 cup sugar and cornstarch; set aside.
- In another bowl, mix flour, cold butter, sugar, and salt until crumbly.
- Gradually add ice water until the dough comes together.
- Roll out half the dough and fit it into the baking dish.
- Spread the strawberry mixture over the crust.
- Roll out the remaining dough to cover the filling, then trim edges and crimp them together.
- Cut slits into the top crust for steam to escape.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before drizzling icing made from mixing icing sugar and milk over the warm pie.
Notes
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or fresh whipped cream for a delightful treat.
