Description
Warm, soft rolls bursting with sweet, creamy strawberry cheesecake flavors, topped with a luscious vanilla glaze.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
- 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
- 1/2 cup softened butter (divided)
- 8 oz full-fat cream cheese
- 1 cup chopped fresh strawberries
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: Combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast in a large bowl. Let sit 5 minutes until foamy. Mix in 1/4 cup softened butter and flour until a soft dough forms. Knead for 5 minutes until smooth.
- Rise: Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm area until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
- Make the Filling: Beat together cream cheese, remaining sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Fold in chopped strawberries.
- Roll Out: Roll risen dough into a rectangle (1/2 inch thick). Spread filling over the dough, paying attention to the edges.
- Cut and Bake: Roll dough tightly into a log and cut into 1 to 1.5 inch wide rolls. Place in a greased baking dish and let rise again for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25 minutes until golden brown.
- Frost: Mix powdered sugar with enough milk for drizzling consistency, then drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
