A delightful chocolate cake that’s easy to make without an oven, perfect for any chocolate lover.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups crushed chocolate biscuits (such as Oreos or Digestives)
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp instant coffee (optional)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate (for ganache)
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream (for ganache)

Instructions

  1. Grease and line a round cake pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix the crushed biscuits with melted butter and press into the bottom of the pan to form the base.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together milk, sugar, cocoa powder, coffee (if using), and vanilla. Stir in the baking powder.
  4. Pour the batter over the biscuit base and smooth the top.
  5. Place the pan in a steamer or a large pot with boiling water, cover it, and steam on medium heat for 40-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let the cake cool completely.
  7. For the ganache, heat the heavy cream and pour it over chopped dark chocolate. Stir until smooth.
  8. Spread ganache over the cooled cake, chill for at least 1 hour, slice, and serve.
