Description

A comforting Garlic Parmesan Focaccia Bread with a golden crust and soft interior, perfect for family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ¼ cups warm water (110°F)
  • 2 tsp active dry yeast
  • ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil (divided)
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Combine warm water and active dry yeast in a mixing bowl and let sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.
  3. Add half of the olive oil and the frothy yeast mixture into the flour mixture and stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  4. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Once risen, punch down the dough and transfer it to an oiled baking sheet, stretching it into an even layer.
  7. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and drizzle the remaining olive oil over the dough, followed by the minced garlic and Parmesan cheese.
  8. Bake for about 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Let cool slightly before slicing into warm pieces.

For a dairy-free version, substitute Parmesan with a dairy-free cheese alternative.
