Description

A delicious baked version of Nashville hot chicken sandwiches that offer a spicy twist with a crunchy texture, perfect for a family dinner or a casual cookout.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup hot sauce (your favorite brand)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  3. In another bowl, mix cayenne pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and sugar for your spice blend.
  4. Coat each chicken breast in hot sauce, then dredge in panko breadcrumbs mixed with half of the spice mixture.
  5. Place the coated chicken in the baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Slice the chicken into sandwich-sized pieces.
  7. Spread mayonnaise on toasted buns, add chicken, top with pickles, and drizzle with extra hot sauce if desired.

Notes
